The State Air Traffic Management Corporation is preparing to reduce dispatchers and cut personnel costs by 30-40%. This is reported by Izvestia with reference to the order of the general director of the enterprise, as well as proposals from one of the corporation’s branches.

The measure is associated with a drop in revenue due to bans on flights of Russian companies abroad and retaliatory measures of the Federal Air Transport Agency for foreign carriers.

It is proposed to reduce the composition of duty shifts to one dispatcher, and transfer airports to a mode of operation without night shifts.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the start of a special military operation in Ukraine. The head of the Russian Defense Ministry, General of the Army Sergei Shoigu, said that the main task of this operation is to protect Russia from a military threat from Western countries that “are trying to use the Ukrainian people in the fight against our country.” In response to this decision, sanctions began to be imposed on Russia. In particular, banks fell under them. In addition, the European Union, the United States and other countries have closed the sky for Russian airlines. The airworthiness certificates of aircraft of Russian airlines registered in Bermuda have been suspended.
