Seven members of an alleged gang dedicated to the theft of commercial institutions and other crimes in Portoviejo were dismantled by the National Police.
The detainees include Julio David ML, alias Crazy Julio, 44-year-old who would be a member of the band The Choneros, according to police inquiries.
Julio M. was one of the 18 inmates who escaped from La Roca prison in Guayaquil in 2013. He has five trials against him, including for the crime of murder.
Pablo Ramírez, commander of Zone 4 of the National Police, indicated that within the Impact 803 operation, the seven people who participated in the robbery at a financial institution in Portoviejo were arrested on July 29 of this year.
In addition, the gang was allegedly dedicated to the theft of other economic units, also to assault on people, extortive kidnapping and possession and possession of firearms, Ramírez said.
The other detainees are Hugo Rodolfo LL; Mauro Fabricio MM and Glorioso Ecuador PL, with a history of robbery; Édison Faraday MM, who reports five legal proceedings for a similar crime, murder, among others. Meanwhile, Kléver Gonzalo GV and Jaime Antonio GM have no antecedents.
A firearm, ten ammunition, four vehicles, a motorcycle and twelve cell phones are part of the evidence found in the operation carried out on Thursday 28. (I)
