The British National Crime Agency (NCA) will search for “assets of the President of Russia” and people associated with him in the UK. This, according to RBC, is stated in the material of The Telegraph.
A media source indicates that a separate division will be created in the NCA. It will be able to attract additional resources, including from the British intelligence services.
Recall that on February 25 – the day after the start of Russia’s special operation in Ukraine – London imposed sanctions against Russian President Vladimir Putin and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. The sanctions imply the freezing of their assets, if any are found.
The EU introduced the same restrictions the next day.
In turn, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that neither Putin nor Lavrov have accounts in the UK or in any other country. Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov also noted that Putin is indifferent to the imposition of sanctions against him.
