With the approval of a new Metropolitan Ordinance which establishes a Rescheduling for Vehicle Technical Review (RTV) in this 2022, authorities of the Municipality of Quito they estimate that they will no longer receive an income approximately $1,600,000.
This was confirmed on Wednesday. Silvana Vallejo, director of the Metropolitan Transit Agency (AMT) who assured that this is the reason that motivated the Mayor’s Office to accelerate a plan to carry out the inspection of the vehicles.
With twelve votes in favor and one abstention, on March 15 the Quito Metropolitan Council approved the Ordinance Reformatory of the Municipal Code related to the vehicle technical review service.
Vallejo also pointed out that the Owners of public, commercial and own-account transport vehicles must pay all registration fees, approve the RTV in other cantons and pay the other taxes (including the rate of the Prefecture) for renew your circulation permit from this first semester.
These vehicles adhere to the normal process according to the last number of your license plate, that is: February those that end in 1, March in 2, April in 3, May in 4, June in 5, July in 6, August in 7, September in 8, November in 9 and December in 0.
From the Department of Communication of the AMT reported that the vehicles that corresponding to February will have to carry out the process in March, without penalty.
The director of the AMT also noted that the exempted vehicles and those that approved the RTV 2021 they must follow the following calendar to obtain the circulation permit: July vehicles with plates ending in 1 and 2; August on 3 and 4; September 5 and 6; October 7 and 8; November 9 and 0; and December will be able to perform all the digits, but with a fine.
Exonerated
The registration of New vehicles will be in charge of commercial houses and are exempt from the RTV until 2024. They will only have to pay $8.17 for the exemption certificate.
the automotive manufactured from 2020 onwards will also be exempt of RTV this year. The owners can renew the circulation permit in this first semester or according to the new calendar.
The vehicles that yes they must carry out the RTV are those purchased in 2019, the same ones that until last year were exonerated.
This year forecast that 471,000 vehicles carry out the Vehicle Technical Review.
Cecilia Vivanco, AMT operations coordinator indicated that all agents are being trained about the new review and enrollment rules.
Finally, Vallejo stated that the vehicles that should carry out the review in these first months will not have fines. However, if they do not attend according to the new calendar, a fine will be applied. (I)
