According to the authorities, the operations will be carried out at different times.
The Municipality of Quito informed, through a bulletin, that the Control operations in the capital will be reinforced during this weekend and holiday for the Day of the Dead and Independence of Cuenca.
The whole country will enjoy five days off, being the longest holiday in the whole year. Therefore, security measures will be implemented in bars, discos, tolerance centers, squares, parks, land terminals and cemeteries.
Daniela Valarezo, Secretary of Security, recalled that the capacity for bars and clubs is 50%; for restaurants, 70% indoors and 80% outdoors; buses, with 100%; airport, with 100% in the pre-boarding area and 75% outside the facilities; squares and parks have unlimited capacity; cemeteries, 60%; cinemas and theaters, 60%.
From this Friday, October 29, the operational in the nine zonal administrations to safeguard the proper use of public space, control of establishments, crowds and security reviews together with the National Police.
These operations will continue from 20:00 to 24:00 with agents from the different municipal entities.
For its part, Metropolitan Transit Agency (AMT) will perform accompaniment and operations on the main roads of the capital.
On Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 of October, as well as Monday 1, Tuesday 2 and Wednesday 3 of November, from 08:00 to 18:00, will carry out controls in the historic center for the proper use of public space, control of establishments and control of agglomerations with the security, social and commercial institutions.
Cemeteries
On Monday, November 1 and Tuesday, November 2, from 08:00 to 16:30, controls will be implemented in the main cemeteries of Quito, such as San Diego, El Batán, Monteolivo, San Isidro, Zámbiza, Nayón, Chillogallo, El Tejar, Cumbayá, Parque de los Recuerdos, Calderón, among others.
The Quito Tourism Company has prepared Guided tours of the main cemeteries to revive the culture and tradition of the ancestors regarding this tribute for the Day of the Dead.
Sanctions
The Metropolitan Control Agency reported that the sanctions that will be issued for citizens will be these: for misuse of mask, $ 100; to perform economic activities in public space without municipal permission, $ 200; improper use of public space, $ 100; consumption and sale of alcoholic beverages in public spaces and inside vehicles, $ 200.
On trade, the Secretary of Security and Governance reported that it will continue to provide training in shopping centers to guarantee the integral safety of those who work or visit this economic sector.
Controls in the historic center will continue as part of the intervention announced by Mayor Santiago Guarderas, which weeks ago triggered a series of clashes between non-regularized merchants and municipal agents.
In addition, both the National Police like the Army will continue with the controls according to the Exception status declared throughout the national territory. (I)
