The European Union with new sanctions forbade having business relations with Russian companies in which the state participation is more than 50%.
Transactions with such companies cannot be concluded either directly or through intermediaries, TASS reports. In addition, business relations are prohibited with organizations whose profit share is claimed by the Russian government or the Central Bank, or with those that have certain economic relations with such organizations, including with specific companies specified separately in the new sanctions list.
These companies include Oboronprom Industrial Corporation, United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), Uralvagonzavod (UVZ), Rosneft, Transneft, Gazpromneft, Almaz-Antey, KAMAZ, Rostec, Sovcomflot, United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) and others.
The prohibition does not apply to the execution of contracts concluded before March 16, 2022.
On February 24, the Russian Federation launched a special operation to protect the LDNR, which was preceded by the recognition of the independence of the people’s republics by Moscow. President Vladimir Putin said that “circumstances require Russia to act decisively” and that it will not allow Kyiv to acquire nuclear weapons. Following this, Western countries began to impose the most severe anti-Russian sanctions.
