This way you can find out if your employer has a debt with the IESS and how much it amounts to

That the employer has a debt with the Ecuadorian Social Security Institute (IESS) is not a situation that ceases to concern the member. Several procedures such as mortgage loans and even retirement require that they be up to date with the obligations with the entity.

Sometimes, employers neglect to verify if your employer is up to date since they deduct your contribution monthly. The delay is generated by not complying with the payment on the determined date.

Until when can I use the IESS insurance if I am unemployed?

“Employer default causes employer liability in the benefits to which the insured has access, in health insurance, pensions, work risks and unemployment”, specified the IESS.

The employer can make payment agreements to catch up and thus not harm your member.

How to join the IESS if I am no longer working

To find out how much you owe or if you have debt, follow these steps:

  • Go to the Certificate of Compliance with Employer Obligations portal.
  • Enter the RUC of your employer.
  • You will be issued a certificate of compliance with the obligations where it is detailed that the delay is registered and the exact value, in addition to whether it has contested glosses.

The certificate is valid for one month and has a security QR code. (I)
