Former head of the department of metallurgy and building materials of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Pavel Servatinsky was sentenced to 4.5 years in prison for abuse of power. This is reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the Moscow prosecutor’s office.
According to the press service, Servatinsky was convicted of committing a crime under paragraph “c” of part 3 of Art. 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Exceeding official powers, with causing grave consequences”). Also, the former official was deprived for 3 years of the right to hold positions in state bodies related to the exercise of the function of a representative of power.
It is noted that the civil claim for compensation for damage caused by the crime was fully satisfied in the amount of more than 31.7 million rubles.
Earlier, other officials of the Ministry of Industry and Trade were detained and arrested. Among them Andrey Bandurov is a leading specialist-expert of the State Defense Order and Nuclear and Radiation Safety Department of the Shipbuilding Industry and Marine Equipment Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, as well as his colleague, consultant of the same department Soslan Geriev. They were accused of accepting large bribes.
