A sustained rain fell since last night in several sectors of the Santa Elena peninsula and flooded streets of the three cantons of that province.
The rain began on Sunday night and extended part of the morning. The streets around the Salinas boardwalk were flooded, mainly the second avenue where businesses are located.
Tourists and residents in Salinas reported rain and streets with accumulated water.
Neighborhoods in the canton of La Libertad also suffered damage. The water rose a few centimeters and remained stagnant in sectors with poor sewerage.
Among the most affected neighborhoods in La Libertad are San Raymundo, Paraíso, Jaime Roldós, Cinco de Junio, Virgen del Carmen, Las Minas. Municipal personnel moved to this last sector to carry out emergency work and evacuation of stagnant water.
The heavy rain caused flooding in areas of the Santa Elena canton. In Ballenita Occidental, Los Ceibos, Enrique Drouet there was accumulated water and streams formed.

The Sumpa land terminal was affected by the entry of rain into its facilities. Part of the lying down fell off.
