New EU sanctions against Russia should come into force on Sunday, March 13. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian.

According to him, a new package of sanctions is currently being prepared, including, on the one hand, a ban on the import of iron and steel, and on the other, a ban on the export of luxury goods. In addition, it is planned to expand the list of sanctions against a number of Russian businessmen and prohibit any investment in the oil industry.

Earlier, the United States included about 570 commodity items in the list of banned exports to the Russian Federation. Now the export of champagne, whiskey, rum, etc. to Russia is prohibited; cigars, pipe tobacco, snuff and chewing tobacco, etc.; cosmetics and perfumes, including eau de toilette, etc.

It will not be possible to buy American suitcases, handbags, natural fur products, the export of sweaters, trousers, ski suits, swimwear, gloves, ties, etc., if the wholesale price in the United States is over $1,000 per item.

American gems and jewelry will no longer be available to Russians, and the export of concert grand pianos, wristwatches, art and collectibles will also be banned. Snowmobiles, motorcycles, some cars, including electric cars, etc. will become unavailable.
