Sending volunteers from Syria to Ukraine to participate in a military special operation can be seen as a further escalation of the conflict by Russia. This, according to TASS, was stated by the representative of the US State Department, Ned Price.

Price stressed that the State Department saw statements about volunteers from Syria, and, if true, consider such actions by the Russian Federation an escalation of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. In addition, according to the representative of the State Department, the need to attract volunteers suggests that the Russian side “met resistance.”

Recall that earlier, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, at a meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin with the Security Council, announced that he had received a huge number of applications from volunteers from different countries who would like to come to the LDNR to participate “in this liberation movement.” The President supported the proposal. “If you see that there are people who want to come on a voluntary basis and help people living in Donbass, you need to meet them halfway and help them move to the war zone,” the head of state said.

16 thousand volunteers from the Middle East can go to the zone of the Donbass conflict.

Recall that on February 24, Vladimir Putin announced the start of a special military operation in Ukraine. The head of Shoigu stated that the main task of this operation is to protect Russia from the military threat from Western countries, which “are trying to use the Ukrainian people in the fight against our country.” In response to this decision, sanctions began to be imposed on Russia.

Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the Russian operation could end at any moment, but Kyiv must amend its constitution so that Ukraine would reject any goal of joining any bloc.
