The investigating authorities of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Primorsky Territory opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Art. 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (causing death by negligence). This is reported by the website of the regional investigative department.
Earlier, Izvestia reported that it was an explosive substance. According to the publication, on March 11 in the Oktyabrsky district, two children, boys aged 11 and 12, in the courtyard of a house on Primorskaya Street in the village of Vladimirovka, due to careless handling of unidentified explosives, “provoked their detonation.” As a result, an 11-year-old boy died on the spot, and a 12-year-old boy died the next day in the hospital.
According to the Investigation Department of the Primorsky Territory, two juveniles found not an explosive substance, but a weapon that spontaneously worked and led to the tragic consequences described above.
Currently, an investigative-operational group is working at the scene, the investigation of the criminal case is ongoing, forensic examinations have been initiated and witnesses are being interrogated.
