The mother of a St. Petersburg soldier, Marina Ivanova, wrote a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin asking him to remove conscripts from the border with Ukraine. It is reported by “Fontanka”.

Ivanova’s 20-year-old son was assigned to a military unit near Moscow, but now, according to her, he is not there. The woman fears that the soldier could be transferred to the border with Ukraine and asks to look into the situation.

“As a mother who has an only son, I earnestly ask you and simply beg,” she turned to Putin.

Recall that the Ministry of Defense reported that several facts of the presence of conscripts in units participating in a special military operation were discovered. The conscripts were withdrawn to the territory of Russia. However, earlier, an attack was made from the units, and a number of military men, including conscripts, were captured. Currently, according to the department, “exhaustive measures” are being taken to prevent conscripts from entering combat areas.

Later, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the military prosecutor’s office would check and punish those who sent conscripts to Ukraine.
