El Chorrillo is another of the urban sectors that recorded the most damage.
The floods drag vehicles and make it difficult to circulate on the roads of Los Ríos
Meanwhile, in the El Palmar sector, there are around 60 families affected by the floods, so the mayor of the city, Carlos German, together with officials from the Department of Risk Management and Social Management, from the early hours of this Friday 11, deliver humanitarian aid such as food kits.
In the Primero de Mayo sector, its inhabitants woke up with water up to their knees, losing all their belongings, so they had to leave their homes and remain in the street until the water began to recede.
The city’s land terminal was another of the flooded sites, making it difficult for users to move. After 08:00, the water began to drain.
The first authority of the city began its journey around 07:00 this Friday, when the water level began to decrease. There he told the press that the flow of the rivers has exceeded what it reflected in previous years, for which they carry out comprehensive cleaning work on the sewers in streets and avenues, so that the water can drain. In other cases, they have begun to make ditches so that the water begins to drain away.
There is pain in Gualel, Loja, due to collapsed houses, damaged roads and destruction of belongings due to the rains
“146 milliliters of water fell in Babahoyo, three times more than in previous rains. The water control worked all morning and that is why in the morning the level began to drop in the center of the city. An electrical issue failed, causing the pumping to be momentarily paralyzed,” said the mayor of Babahoyo.
He added that the “operating pumping system is already working, but there are low-lying sectors where they do not have rainwater drainage and work is being done on that,” he said.
German also said that for now the level of the San Pablo River remains at 6.50 meters, but once it exceeds 7 meters there will be floods that are generated by the heavy rains that will fall in the city and by rainfall in the mountains. . (I)
