The State Duma adopted in the first reading a bill regulating the admission of foreign medicines to Russia, a Rosbalt correspondent reports.
The bill provides that in the event of a shortage of medicines in 2022, the government will be able to decide on a simplified procedure for admitting foreign medicines to the Russian market.
The new rules establish that, by decision of the government, newly registered foreign drugs can be sold in Russia until December 31, 2022 in foreign packaging with a label in Russian (now only in Russian packaging). This will simplify and speed up the introduction of medicines to the domestic market, as well as minimize the risks of external sanctions affecting drug supply, the government explained.
Also, a norm was adopted according to which the government in 2022 and 2023 will be able to make decisions that provide for the specifics of organizing the provision of medical care to citizens of the Russian Federation, foreign citizens and stateless persons, as well as the specifics of the implementation of the program of state guarantees of free provision of medical care to citizens. As explained in the State Duma, we are talking about providing medical assistance to refugees from the LDNR.
