Musician Sergei Shnurov leaves the post of general producer of the RTVI channel. His statement was published on the media website. Shnurov explained that he was going to concentrate on his musical projects and “temporarily remove himself from the post of general producer.”
“In the context of current events, my opinion in many respects may not coincide with the editorial policy of RTVI, not wanting to influence the image and information policy of RTVI in any way, even indirectly, I decided to temporarily stop cooperating with the channel,” Shnurov explained.
The RTVI team supported this decision – RTVI CEO Olga Piven said that a conflict is inevitable between Shnurov’s personal position, which he demonstrates in his songs, and the views of the RTVI audience.
“We wish Sergey success in his endeavors,” said RTVI CEO Olga Piven.
Recall that earlier Sergei Shnurov recorded a number of songs criticizing the St. Petersburg authorities for poor-quality garbage and snow removal in the city, and then released a song that offended TV presenter Ksenia Sobchak.
