The State Department maintains that US authorities do not own or operate biological laboratories in Ukraine. Ned Price, the head of the press service of the US Foreign Ministry, told reporters about this, according to TASS.
“I will be very clear: the US authorities do not own or operate biological laboratories in Ukraine. And point. As we have done in countries around the world, experts sometimes assisted Ukraine with issues related to laboratory safety. But the activity was limited to this, ”Price emphasized.
Volodymyr Zelensky also said that chemical or other weapons of mass destruction were not developed in Ukraine, and the laboratories in the country remained from Soviet times and are engaged in ordinary science, not military technologies.
“We are decent people. I am the president of an adequate country, an adequate people… Nobody is developing any chemical or any other weapons of mass destruction on our soil,” he added.
Earlier, Igor Kirillov, head of the Radiation, Chemical and Biological Defense Forces of the Russian Armed Forces, said that during a military special operation on the territory of Ukraine, the activities of a network of more than 30 biological laboratories commissioned by the US Department of Defense Threat Reduction Agency were discovered.
Kirillov said that the Pentagon was interested in insects in Ukraine that carry infections, more than 140 containers with fleas and ticks were taken abroad from the biological laboratory in Kharkov.
According to him, documents on the implementation of the military biological programs of the United States and its NATO allies on the territory of Ukraine confirm numerous cases of the transfer of biological samples of Ukrainian citizens abroad. According to Kirillov, one can say with a high degree of probability that one of the tasks of the United States and its allies is the creation of bioagents that affect various ethnic groups.
Also, according to Kirillov, Ukrainian specialists, with the support of the United States, monitored the flight range of migratory birds capable of transmitting infections to Russia.
