The Japanese company Epson, which produces printers, scanners and other office equipment, has announced the suspension of supplies of its products to Russia and Belarus due to events in Ukraine.

According to a posting on the company’s website, Epson is “committed to respecting human rights” and “strongly calls for an immediate end to the conflict.”

The company also announced that it would donate $1 million to help victims in Ukraine through the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the Red Cross. In addition, fundraising is being carried out among employees, this money will also be transferred to Ukraine through the Red Cross.

In the past two weeks, many foreign companies have announced the suspension of work in Russia due to events in Ukraine. In particular, on March 9 alone, this was announced by the Amazon online store, the beverage manufacturer PepsiCo, the record company Universal Music, the seller of children’s goods Mothercare, the owner of the KFC fast food chain, Yum! Brands, S&P rating agency, Jack Daniel’s and Finlandia alcoholic drinks maker Brown-Forman, Allegro train maker Alstom, Davidoff tobacco maker (Davidoff, West, Jadé, P&S and Maxim cigarette brands), Discovery media company, which owns 15 TV channels, including Animal Planet and Eurosport.

Recall, on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin made an emergency appeal to the Russians and announced a special military operation in the Donbass. In his speech, he stated that “circumstances require decisive action from Russia” and stressed that “Russia will not allow Ukraine to have nuclear weapons.” In response to Russia’s actions, Western countries (USA, Canada, European Union, Great Britain, Japan) announced new, tougher sanctions against the Russian Federation, including financial and economic ones.
