The United States is not developing biological weapons in Ukraine, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said.
According to Reuters, Kirby stressed that the Russian allegations are “absurd and laughable” and that Moscow’s claims about biolabs in Ukraine are “classic Russian propaganda.”
A similar statement was made by White House press secretary Jen Psaki. She called Moscow’s claims false and added that “Russian propaganda” was picked up by China.
Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the presence of biological laboratories in Ukraine.
Recall, on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin made an emergency appeal to the Russians and announced a special military operation in the Donbass. In his speech, he stated that “circumstances require decisive action from Russia” and stressed that “Russia will not allow Ukraine to have nuclear weapons.” In response to Russia’s actions, Western countries (USA, Canada, European Union, Great Britain, Japan) announced new, tougher sanctions against the Russian Federation, including financial and economic ones.
