With seven votes in favor, councilor Daniel Delgado was elected the new vice mayor of Loja, on the morning of this Wednesday, March 9.

The election took place after Patricia Picoita, who had been holding that position, became mayor following the death of Jorge Bailón last week.

“I hope to be the direct link with the mayor for the benefit of the people of Loja. I want to ask you, madam mayor, to return the category that the Cantonal Council should have, all the councillors, the respect and consideration, as a collegiate body you should have that link and above all have that right that you have been denied in the last two administrations, where the Cantonal Council becomes a very important entity for the work of the administration that you exercise it, “said Delgado.

The new deputy mayor came to occupy a position as mayor sponsored by the political movement Creating Opportunities (CREO).
