Residents of the Las Casitas sector, in Guasmo sur, woke up frightened this morning due to a loud detonation that was heard in the neighborhood.
Upon leaving, the residents realized that the explosion came from a house in the area. An artifact had detonated in the enclosure of a cement house.
Due to the strong explosion, part of the building’s enclosure was affected and fell to the floor.
The Police moved this morning to the sector to collect evidence that may clarify the incident that occurred in the south of Guayaquil.
No deaths or injuries were reported as a result of the detonation.
The incident occurred a few blocks from where the previous Monday there was a hit-man-style attack and two brothers aged 4 and 5 and a 46-year-old man were hit by bullets after they fired at their home.

It happened at 02:20, when the family was apparently gathered in the living room of the house.
At that time, armed subjects arrived in a vehicle and opened fire.
On the facade, in the metal door and in the window were the bullet holes that hit the minors and an adult who was next to them. The three were taken to the Guasmo hospital.
Captain Stalin Fagra, police chief of the sector, explained that the 4-year-old boy was shot in the abdomen and that the doctors were trying to stabilize him to transfer him to the Francisco de Ycaza Bustamante hospital.

His 5-year-old brother is in stable condition; he was grazed by a bullet in the ribs and has already been discharged. The adult received a wound to the hand.
