Publishing house Conde Nast, which publishes such magazines as Vogue and GQ, announced the suspension of work in Russia due to the military operation in Ukraine and the law criminalizing false information about the actions of the Russian military. The statement of the head of the house, Roger Lynch, is published on the company’s website.

In a statement, Lynch stressed that journalists and editorial teams around the world are committed to “creating content without compromising employee safety.” According to him, “new censorship laws” in the Russian Federation make this impossible. In this regard, all publishing operations of Conde Nast Russia will be suspended.

The Conde Nast media group has been operating on the Russian market since 1998 and currently publishes seven premium glossy magazines: Vogue, GQ, GQ Style, Tatler, AD, Glamour, and Glamor Style Book. The total audience reach of the holding’s brands, according to the company itself, is 25 million monthly.

Recall that on March 4, a law on the introduction of criminal liability for the dissemination of false data regarding the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation came into force. After that, foreign publications began to leave Russia and local ones closed.
