Civil Registry announced extension of hours for three Saturdays to obtain a passport

On Saturday March 12, 19 and 26, the Civil Registry of Ecuador will extend its opening hours in the agencies located in Quito, Guayaquil and Cuenca for the issuance of passports.

The entity clarified that it is necessary for users to obtain a shift in the virtual agency.

This will be the new virtual shift reservation system to obtain the passport and identity card

The agencies that will be enabled are:

  • Quito: Matrix – Iñaquito, La Previsora ​​building, av. Amazonas N37-61 and United Nations.
  • Guayaquil: Zonal Government, av. Francisco de Orellana and Justino Cornejo.
  • Basin: San Blas, Luis Cordero passage between Alfonso Jervez and Alfonso Malo.

The passport has a value of 90 dollars, whether it is the first time or renewal, for the elderly the value is 50% and for people with more than 30% disability it is free. Users from vulnerable groups do not require scheduling and payment for the document is made within the agencies.

The validity of the cards that have already expired is extended until March 31

The payment of the document for other users can be made online. Through social networks, citizens have expressed their complaint at not being able to obtain a shift at an early date.

How to schedule an appointment and pay for service:

  • Once registered, you must log in to the portal www.registrocivil.gob.ec, with your previously entered username and password.
  • Select the personal or family passport service to be performed and click on Add.
  • Then choose the Province and agency where you will carry out the procedure. Then choose the option of acceptance of terms and conditions and choose the option To accept.
  • Go to the shopping cart icon (at the top), review the order details, and click Select payment method.
  • Three columns will appear with the various digital and face-to-face payment options. In case of online payments, you can pay with credit and debit cards.for this you must choose an option.
  • Then enter card information, accept terms and conditions, then click Submit for payment. The system will send the purchase data and you must select the Go to payment system option.
  • Pay the transaction by clicking Continue and a message will appear with the approval of the transaction. Once the service has been cancelled, you can return to the virtual agency by clicking on Return to Commerce and Return to Order to make the appointment.
  • Finally, you must select the icon schedule shift and in a drop-down window you must choose the shift with the time and date. A message with the shift will be sent to the indicated email.

In case of paying at a bank agency

  • If you pay at a bank agency, you must go to step 4. There, you will select the payment point where you will make the cancellation, generate the payment order and you have three days to cancel the service in banking entities of Banco del Pacífico, Servipagos or Pago Agile.
  • Then you must schedule your shift in the virtual agency, looking for the option My Orders and the status of the order should appear as Approved and you must click.
  • Then, likewise, you can reserve your day and date of attention by clicking on Schedule a shift and in the window that is displayed you must choose the date and time.
