Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated the women of Russia on the occasion of International Women’s Day.

In particular, he wished that loved ones always surround women with “attention and warmth”, so that women “return kindness and participation”, which they generously give to “family, children, grandchildren, colleagues and friends.”

At the same time, the head of state acknowledged that Russia is now living “in a difficult time: global economic challenges and problems, military conflicts and the inevitable need to protect our people and our country, a pandemic and the struggle for the life and health of millions of citizens.”

In this regard, the president announced that in the Russian Federation, from April, new payments will be established for children from eight to 16 years old inclusive for all families with “low incomes”.

Recall that on February 21, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed decrees recognizing the independence of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics (DPR and LPR), and on February 24 he made an emergency appeal to the Russians and announced a special military operation in Donbass. In his speech, he stated that “circumstances require decisive action from Russia” and stressed that “Russia will not allow Ukraine to have nuclear weapons.”
