The Russian Ministry of Defense announced a ceasefire regime starting from 10:00 on March 7 and opens humanitarian corridors from four Ukrainian cities – Kyiv, Mariupol, Kharkov, Sumy. It is reported by “Kommersant”.
Control over the evacuation will be carried out from drones in order to prevent its disruption.
The Ministry of Defense reported that they brought information about the creation of humanitarian corridors in Ukraine to the relevant structures of the UN, the OSCE, the International Committee of the Red Cross and other international organizations. The Russian side demanded that Ukraine “strictly comply with all conditions for the creation of humanitarian corridors.”
An agreement to open humanitarian corridors was reached at the talks between the Russian Federation and Ukraine on March 3, and on March 5, the Russian Defense Ministry opened humanitarian corridors for Mariupol and Volnovakha. The Russian side accused Ukraine of disrupting the evacuation of civilians, and on the same day the ceasefire was lifted. On March 6, the Mariupol City Council announced the resumption of the evacuation, but the second attempt to evacuate people through humanitarian corridors failed again.
Meanwhile, the Russian delegation is preparing for the third stage of negotiations with representatives of Ukraine, and Kyiv explains why Moscow’s proposals to organize humanitarian corridors turned out to be unacceptable to it.
