Two men were shot in the doorway of a house, in the south of Esmeraldas

Jorge Cuero Estupiñán (30 years old) and Ángel García González (21 years old) were killed with several bullet wounds while they were in the doorway of a house in the Voluntad de Dios neighborhood, in the south of the city of Esmeraldas.

This new case of criminal violence was reported to the National Police around 9:00 p.m. on Friday.

The victims were next to the house when they received several bullet wounds in their bodies by unknown subjects. According to previous versions, the subjects arrived on a motorcycle and then fled the scene.

Residents of the sector did not provide further details to the police officers for fear of reprisals.

At the beginning of last February, in the Familias Unidas neighborhood, Voluntad de Dios sector, a 22-year-old man, without identification, was murdered in similar circumstances.

According to residents, the victim was shot from a truck. In this event, a 42-year-old woman was also injured.

This Friday afternoon, a shooting was reported that would have been caused by a known group in the El Gatazo citadel, southern sector of the Esmeralda capital.

The National Police intervened in the sector with searches and raids on some homes.

The people of Esmeralda demand greater police intervention and that the authorities take joint actions to neutralize crimes due to robberies, threats of extortion and violent deaths. (I)
