The third round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine will be held on the Polish-Belarusian border. This was stated by a member of the Ukrainian delegation, head of the ruling Servant of the People faction in the Verkhovna Rada, David Arakhamia, RIA Novosti writes with reference to Strana.ua.
According to him, “negotiations between the Ukrainian and Russian delegations on Monday, March 7, will take place in the same place – on the Polish-Belarusian border.”
Recall that the first round of negotiations between the delegations of Russia and Ukraine in the Gomel region of Belarus took place on February 28. The second one took place on March 3rd. The parties agreed on the creation of humanitarian corridors and a possible temporary ceasefire. It was also reported that the parties then agreed to negotiate behind closed doors in order to “at least somehow agree.”
The Russian delegation is headed by Medinsky, it also includes Deputy Defense and Foreign Ministers Alexander Fomin and Andrei Rudenko, head of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Leonid Slutsky and Russian Ambassador to Belarus Boris Gryzlov. From the Ukrainian side: Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov, adviser to the head of the presidential office Mykhailo Podolyak, head of the faction of the ruling Servant of the People party David Arakhamia, first deputy head of the Ukrainian delegation to the Contact Group for the settlement in Donbass Andriy Kostin, deputy Rustem Umerov and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikolay Tochitsky.
It should be noted that on February 21, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed decrees recognizing the independence of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics (DPR and LPR), and on February 24 he made an emergency appeal to the Russians and announced a special military operation in Donbass. In his speech, he stated that “circumstances require decisive action from Russia” and stressed that “Russia will not allow Ukraine to have nuclear weapons.”
