After meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett called Ukrainian President Zelensky and then flew to Germany for talks with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the office of the Israeli Prime Minister.
“The Prime Minister of Israel has just spoken with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky at the end of a meeting with Putin in the Kremlin,” the office noted. They specified that the heads of the two countries discussed the situation in Ukraine against the background of the Russian operation.
Details of the negotiations have not yet been disclosed.
Now Bennett is on his way to Germany, where he will meet with Chancellor Scholz.
It should be noted that on February 21, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed decrees recognizing the independence of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics (DPR and LPR), and on February 24 he made an emergency appeal to the Russians and announced a special military operation in Donbass. In his speech, he stated that “circumstances require decisive action from Russia” and stressed that “Russia will not allow Ukraine to have nuclear weapons.”
