Aeroflot suspends international flights – Rosbalt

Aeroflot has been suspending international flights since March 8 “due to the occurrence of additional circumstances that impede the operation of flights.” The airline has announced this.

“Aeroflot informs about the temporary suspension of all international flights from March 8 (00:00 Moscow time) due to the occurrence of additional circumstances that prevent flights,” the message says.

The restriction does not apply to flights to Belarus.

At the same time, from 00:00 Moscow time on March 6, the airline stops admitting passengers with round-trip tickets to international flights with a return trip after March 8, 2022. Passengers on international flights with one-way tickets departing from the Russian Federation will be accepted for transportation until the flight is terminated.

Passengers of canceled international flights can apply for a full refund of the ticket price.

Earlier, the Federal Air Transport Agency recommended that Russian airlines that own aircraft on lease from foreign companies stop flights abroad from March 6 due to “a high risk of detention or arrest of aircraft.” The appeal states the advice ” from 00:00 Moscow time on 03/06/2022, temporarily suspend the transportation of passengers and goods from points on the territory of Russia to points of foreign states; from 00.00 Moscow time on March 08, 2022, temporarily suspend the transportation of passengers and goods from points on the territory of foreign states to points on the territory of Russia. The restrictions do not affect Russian airlines that operate aircraft of foreign or Russian registration and there are no risks of their arrest or detention; foreign airlines of countries that have not joined the sanctions and have not restricted air traffic with the Russian Federation.

In the meantime, until March 14, 2022, 03:45 Moscow time, the temporary restriction of flights to Russian airports in the south and central part of Russia has been extended. Flights are temporarily restricted to the following airports: Anapa, Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Gelendzhik, Krasnodar, Kursk, Lipetsk, Rostov-on-Don, Simferopol, Elista.
