In Russia, the websites of some media have ceased to open, there are problems with access to Facebook and Twitter, RBC reports.

In particular, the availability of Meduza (recognized in Russia as a foreign media agent), Twitter and Facebook, according to the Globalcheck portal, which monitors access failures, is 17%. According to Globalcheck, they are opened only for Rostelecom users. Availability of BBC News, the Russian version of Deutsche Welle and Radio Liberty (recognized as a foreign media agent in Russia) – 0%.

In addition, Globalcheck reports the blocking of the App Store and Google Play. Downdetector does not record complaints about these applications. The Google App Store site does not open.

Data from the Downdetector service indicates a failure in the work of Facebook: at 1:19 Moscow time, more than 400 user complaints were recorded.

None of the listed resources as of 2:30 Moscow time is included in the register of prohibited sites of Roskomnadzor, the agency notes.

Recall, on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin made an emergency appeal to the Russians and announced a special military operation in the Donbass. In his speech, he stated that “circumstances require decisive action from Russia” and stressed that “Russia will not allow Ukraine to have nuclear weapons.” In response to Russia’s actions, Western countries (USA, Canada, European Union, Great Britain, Japan) announced new, tougher sanctions against the Russian Federation, including financial and economic ones.
