The Polish studio CD Projekt RED, which created the video games Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher, announced a temporary suspension of game sales in Russia and Belarus due to the conflict in Ukraine.

A Twitter post from the company notes that the decision will affect both digital and physical copies. “We hope for the understanding of all the players that will be affected. Previously purchased copies of games, as well as patches and hotfixes for them, will continue to work, ”the company emphasized.

After the start of the military special operation in Ukraine, many Western companies stopped working in Russia. In particular, the largest American film companies – Warner Bros., Paramount, Disney and Universal Pictures – canceled the distribution of their films in Russian cinemas.

Recall, on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin made an emergency appeal to the Russians and announced a special military operation in the Donbass. In his speech, he stated that “circumstances require decisive action from Russia” and stressed that “Russia will not allow Ukraine to have nuclear weapons.” In response to Russia’s actions, Western countries (USA, Canada, European Union, Great Britain, Japan) announced new, tougher sanctions against the Russian Federation, including financial and economic ones.
