The US Financial Assets Control Authority has made an exception for the Russian businessman and billionaire Alisher Usmanov, who was on the sanctions list. According to the official document of the department, even those companies where it owns more than 50% will not fall under anti-Russian measures.

It is clarified that the accounts of these companies are available and transactions are allowed.

Earlier it was reported that the German government confiscated Usmanov’s 156-meter yacht, but then Spigel denied this information. A spokesman for the Hamburg Economics and Innovation Authority told the newspaper that not a single yacht had been confiscated in the city’s port.

Recall, on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin made an emergency appeal to the Russians and announced a special military operation in the Donbass. In his speech, he stated that “circumstances require decisive action from Russia” and stressed that “Russia will not allow Ukraine to have nuclear weapons.” In response to Russia’s actions, Western countries (USA, Canada, European Union, Great Britain, Japan) announced new, tougher sanctions against the Russian Federation, including financial and economic ones.
