The majority of the polled readers of Rosbalt (43.09%) answered the question: “What are you going to do against the backdrop of the events in Russia and Ukraine?” responded that they were in shock from what was happening and could not yet choose the form of response.

At the same time, 16.90% of respondents stated that they intend to do their best to help the leadership of their country. 14.24% of respondents have an influence in their country on what is happening, 14.15% of respondents intend to take a wait-and-see attitude and see how it all ends. 11.62% of those surveyed said they would emigrate if given the opportunity.

In total, more than 9.3 thousand people took part in the survey.

Recall that on February 21, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed decrees recognizing the independence of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics (DPR and LPR), and on February 24 he made an emergency appeal to the Russians and announced a special military operation in Donbass.

In response to Russia’s actions, Western countries (USA, Canada, European Union, Great Britain, Japan) announced new, tougher sanctions against the Russian Federation, including financial and economic ones.
