From Saturday March 5four public transport operators in Quito they will charge $0.35 fare. The Ministry of Mobility authorized the increase in the rate for companies Colectrans, Trans Alfa, San Cristóbal and Transporselonce they met the quality parameters established in ordinance 017-2020.

To get the go-ahead, the units were examined by inspectors from the Management Directorate on issues of travel times, compliance with interval schedules, start / close of operation, monitoring of established routes, speed indexes, among others.

The results were verified contrasted and validated with the technological platform. In addition, parameters of reliability, safety, user comfort and system infrastructure, attention to vulnerable and disabled groups, maintenance of the units were evaluated, informed the Municipality.

The Secretary of Mobility, Ricardo Pozo, stated that each case is analyzed aimed at updating the rate. “The work of verification of compliance and evaluation of quality parameters continues rigorously, in order to obtain a decent and efficient service for users of public transport,” he stressed.

With the four companies newly authorized to increase the fare from $0.25 to $0.35, There are already 17 operators that have the permission of the Municipalitysome since April 2021. This is the complete list:

Other operators are in the process of updating the rate, for which they must submit contractual documentation and abide by the Quality Indicators Manual. (I)
