Marina Fenina, an employee of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) in Ukraine, died in Kharkiv, the secretariat of the organization reports.
According to the OSCE, this happened as a result of shelling on March 1. “Marina was killed while delivering groceries for her family in a city that has become a war zone,” the statement said. It is noted that the organization’s employees in Ukraine provide support to Fenina’s relatives.
The chairman of the organization, Zbigniew Rau, and its general secretary, Helga Schmid, expressed their condolences to the family of the deceased.
Recall, on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin made an emergency appeal to the Russians and announced a special military operation in the Donbass. In his speech, he stated that “circumstances require decisive action from Russia” and stressed that “Russia will not allow Ukraine to have nuclear weapons.” In response to Russia’s actions, Western countries (USA, Canada, European Union, Great Britain, Japan) announced new, tougher sanctions against the Russian Federation, including financial and economic ones.
