This Wednesday, March 2, the funeral of Roberto Tigrero González, a fisherman from Santa Rosa, Salinas canton, Santa Elena province, who died on the high seas due to an accident with a boat, took place on January 22.

Twelve days after the tragedy, the man’s body appeared in a state of decomposition. He was already in the neighboring country, in Peruvian territory.

But since then, his family could not say goodbye to him, due to the legal procedures that they had to follow in Peru and his subsequent repatriation.

César Tigrero, brother of the deceased, commented that he traveled several times to remove the body of his relative, but it was not possible at first.

According to him, he never fainted in this process. Once the skills carried out confirmed the relationship between César and his brother, the Peruvian authorities returned the body to him, he explained.

At that time, neighbors and friends were waiting for his body, in the midst of nostalgia and solidarity with relatives.

The vigil was fulfilled at night and early this Wednesday. At 10:00 they left for the Salinas cemetery, where the victim was buried.

The wish of his relatives was to give him the last goodbye and bury him in his land, so that he can be visited by his loved ones. (I)
