Rostourism recommended that Russians refrain from tourist and business trips to countries that have imposed sanctions on Russia, and that tour operators suspend sales of tours to these countries and to the countries of the Caribbean. This was reported by Interfax with reference to information from the department.
Rostourism advises against traveling to sanctioned countries, “since staying in these countries may carry the risks of a timely and safe return to Russia.”
The ministry recalled that Turkey, Egypt, Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates, China, India, Vietnam and a number of other states are available for tourist trips.
Earlier, Western countries (USA, Canada, EU, UK, Japan) announced sanctions against Russia. This happened after Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the start of a special military operation in Ukraine. The head of the Russian Defense Ministry, General of the Army Sergei Shoigu, said that Russia would continue it until the achievement of its goals. According to Shoigu, the main task of this operation is to protect Russia from the military threat from Western countries, which “are trying to use the Ukrainian people in the fight against our country.” Note that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky invited Russia to sit down at the negotiating table. The first stage of such discussions has already taken place. The Russian and Ukrainian delegations are expected to continue consultations.
