From March 1, amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses come into force in Russia, which increase the fine for the lack of technical inspection to 2 thousand rubles. State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin reminded Russians of this in his Telegram. The official clarified that the innovation will affect only those vehicle owners for whom technical inspection remains mandatory.
In addition, the Ministry of Transport has tightened the requirements for photographic fixation at maintenance points. At the moment, two shots of the car are required to complete the procedure, front and rear, however, after the entry into force of the new rules, the vehicle will also need to be photographed from the side, along with a full-length technical expert. This measure is designed to avoid falsification of photographs.
Recall that the law on the abolition of mandatory technical inspection, which affected the owners of cars and motorcycles, was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin on December 31, 2021. Passenger cars and motor vehicles used by citizens for personal purposes are exempted from the need to check the technical condition of cars. The norm does not apply to taxis and other vehicles used to transport passengers, as well as to personal vehicles for official purposes.
A technical inspection will be required when registering, changing ownership, changing the design or replacing the main units.
