Ecuador is getting ready to live a long holiday this Saturday. Between October 30 and November 3, the working day has been suspended in the national territory since between these dates the Day of the Dead and the independence of Cuenca are remembered.
The Government also established Wednesday, November 3 as a day of rest because, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was necessary to provide incentives for the internal tourism sector to recover, “it being important to have one more day of rest in the November holiday 2021 ″.
With this objective in mind, several citizens already plan the routes they will take and the destinations they will visit. Cities of the Coast, Sierra and Oriente are getting ready for the day where the recovery of the economy through tourism is expected.
On the coast there are several places that tend to be unknown, but that offer a great experience, these are some that you can enjoy on those days:
Mache-Chindul Ecological Reserve
Located in the south of Esmeraldas and the north of Manabí, this reserve contains humid and dry forests that surround the mountain range of the same name. There is also the Cube lagoon, a wetland of international importance for its diversity and ecological functions. It has an area of 119,172 hectares. Among the mammals that can be found are tigrillos, capuchin and howler monkeys, otters, birds such as hummingbirds, as well as a wide variety of trees.
It is allowed to take pictures, bike and horse rides, camping, canoeing, among others.
To get from Quito you can take the road to Quinindé either through La Independencia or Santo Domingo, after this you take the Esmeraldas road and then after twelve kilometers to the point where it indicates kilometer 80, after that advance to the Y de la Laguna . If you go to the Cube lagoon, you will have to travel 17 kilometers, on the other hand, for the El Edén deldógola community you travel 21 kilometers from the Y.
Isla Corazón and Frigates
These islands are located at the mouth of the Chone River just in front of the cities of Bahía de Caráquez and San Vicente, in the province of Manabí, there you can find a resting and breeding site for seabirds. To visit the protected area from Guayaquil you must get to Montecristi taking the road that passes to Nobol, after that through the Pacific trunk you reach San Vicente and cross the bridge that connects the town with Bahia, in the first round you turn to the Right to take the San Antonio-Chone road to Puerto Portovelo about fifteen minutes where you will find the control point. By river it can be reached by Bahía de Caráquez or San Vicente through a panga.
Mangroves El Morro
Located in the Guayas province, it is home to an important population of dolphins and frigates. The continental part is divided into two sectors: El Morro and El Salado, while the insular part contains the Manglecito islands, Farallones formations, the Morro channel, which is the narrow passage between Puná Island and the mainland.
You can take pictures, swimming, snorkeling and canoeing.
To get to the mangroves you can take the road to the coast to Progreso where you will go to General Villamil and take the El Morro-Puerto El Morro road for 20 kilometers to reach the refuge.
Santa Clara Island
Located in the province of El Oro, the small island is home to thousands of seabirds such as frigates, blue-footed boobies, and pelicans. Within the protected area are nearby islets and two nautical miles around them.
You can take pictures and go on walks.
From Guayaquil you should go to the road to Machala and after this travel to the Puerto Bolívar dock and take a boat.
Lake Park
Near Guayaquil, it has an artificial lake produced by the reservoir on the Chongón River. You can take walks, bike rides, camping, playgrounds, canoe rides.
