The numbers of visitors who entered the province of El Oro are encouraging for the tourism sector, which during the carnival holiday managed to open its premises without restrictions.
The leaders of El Oro admit that the economic reactivation has been positive in these days off.
“We believe that it has been a favorable holiday to recover the economy of tourist businesses, the number of people has not been like in carnivals without a pandemic, but we are sure that many were able to make sales of their services and products,” Homero said. Castro, vice president of the El Oro Chamber of Tourism.

The beaches of Jambelí and Bajo Alto were the most visited destinations. Most of the tourist services businesses and the gastronomic offer were concentrated there, among the attractions were artistic events during the day and at night.
In the natural water rivers it was also possible to observe the influx of tourists, for example, dozens of visitors concentrated in the La Cocha spa.

“The locals selling Creole food, drinks and other products have benefited because we had a large number of people who visited us,” said Ronald Maldonado, leader of that parish, jurisdiction of the canton of Pasaje.
The hotel sector in El Oro also registered an increase in the demand for its services. “Tourists who came from other provinces, mostly from the Sierra, have spent at least two days in Machala, this is positive because they prefer our province,” added Castro. (I)
