Tourists from St. Petersburg are stuck in Montenegro and cannot return home due to flight cancellations. Yevgenia, a resident of the northern capital, shared her personal story with a Rosbalt correspondent.

She came to rest in the resort town of Tivat. The plane in the opposite direction through Belgrade was planned for March 2, but the flight was canceled. “I found out about this in a completely strange way, because Aeroflot did not send any notifications, no letters to the post office. I just accidentally opened the app and accidentally looked to see what was going on. Even the e-ticket showed that the flight was confirmed, and when I started to look at the status of the flight, I finally saw that the flight was canceled, ”said Evgenia.

The girl unsuccessfully tried to get through to the airline, until on February 28 she finally managed to contact and get information. No written notification was sent to her.

In parallel, Evgenia purchased tickets from two more airlines, which, however, also canceled flights, but at least with prompt notice. The girl has the opportunity to fly to Belgrade, but the future is still vague, there are several options.

“The situation in Montenegro is calm. No resentment, no excitement. Nobody understands who is Russian and who is Ukrainian. Quiet little resort town. It’s a pity that it’s not so calm everywhere, ”said Evgenia.

She does not know the fate of other Petersburgers stuck in the country, but added that a large family of seven lives with her in the hotel, who may also have difficulties.

Earlier, Aeroflot announced that it was suspending flights on the European route network from February 28, 2022.
