Two traffic accidents were recorded in recent hours on roads near the canton of General Villamil, Playas.
In the first incident, a passenger transport bus overturned on the Playas-Progreso road, after 12:00 on Monday, February 28.
After the alert, the ECU911 integrated service coordinated the transfer of teams from various agencies, such as the Ecuadorian Traffic Commission, the Ministry of Public Health, the Guayaquil Fire Department and the National Electricity Corporation, to attend to the road emergency.
At the site, teams from the Rescue and Emergency Medical Unit (UREM) together with guards collaborated in the rescue of the occupants of the bus, which ended up on the side of the road.
The presence of at least four injured people was found on the site. They received first aid and were later referred to the basic hospital in Playas.
The accident also caused damage to a power line pole located on the side of the road.
In a statement, the ECU911 recommended that drivers wear a seat belt and drive respecting speed limits and traffic signs.
There was rain in the emergency area at the time of the accident.
This afternoon, on the Playas-Posorja road, at the height of Playa Varadero, a collision between a truck and a motorcycle was recorded. As a result, a young man died and another was injured.
The injured person was taken in an ambulance from the Ministry of Health to the basic hospital in Playas to receive timely care.
According to CTE personnel, the driver of the truck was held for inquiries. (I)
