Another inmate found dead in El Rodeo prison, the sixth in February

PORTOVIEJO

An inmate was found dead at the El Rodeo social rehabilitation center in Portoviejo. The inmate was apparently in one of the maximum security cells.

The inmate was found with signs of a suspected hanging. The authorities have not released the causes of death, nor the name or the reasons for which he was serving a sentence.

Two inmates appeared dead in El Rodeo prison, there have already been five deaths in this prison during February

The person deprived of liberty is the sixth to appear dead in February in that prison. Four of those deaths have been linked to suspected suicides and one to a health ailment.

Last Thursday, February 24, two inmates, also from maximum security cells, were found dead, apparently by suicide.

The remains of the inmate found dead on Monday, February 28, were taken to the Manta forensic center. (I)
