Russia agreed to conduct negotiations without conditions and requirements – and “this is already a victory.” This opinion was expressed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba at an online briefing, he is quoted by Interfax-Ukraine.
“I think the fact that Russia is ready to negotiate without any preconditions, without any ultimatums, without any demands directed to Ukraine, is already a victory for Ukraine,” Kuleba said.
It should be noted that in these minutes, negotiations between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations will start near the Belarusian Gomel. According to Sputnik Belarus, the exact place for negotiations between Russia and Ukraine is the Aleksandrovka and Vilcha checkpoints. The nearest Belarusian city is Narovlya, the media specifies.
The day before, members of the Russian delegation arrived in Belarusian Gomel and said that they were waiting for representatives of Ukraine at the talks. In response, the leader of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky noted that the Ukrainian delegation would go to any city, but not to the territory of Belarus, from where, in his words, “tanks and troops came to Ukraine.” Ultimately, the Ukrainian delegation nevertheless agreed to hold talks in the Gomel region of Belarus. The team of negotiators from the Russian Federation is headed by Vladimir Medinsky, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation.
