Russian-Ukrainian talks will be held on the morning of February 28 at the residence of the Gomel region. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the Belarusian political scientist Yury Voskresensky.
According to him, “the Ukrainian delegation is still going to negotiate to the Belarusian border through Poland because of their concerns about security measures.” From the Ukrainian side there will be “a small delegation, four or five people,” Voskresensky added.
It should be reminded that on February 27, in the afternoon, members of the Russian delegation arrived in Belarusian Gomel and announced that they were waiting for representatives of Ukraine at the talks. In response, the leader of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky noted that the Ukrainian delegation would go to any city, but not to the territory of Belarus, from where, in his words, “tanks and troops came to Ukraine.” Ultimately, the Ukrainian delegation nevertheless agreed to hold talks in the Gomel region of Belarus. The team of negotiators from the Russian Federation is headed by Vladimir Medinsky, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation.
