Zelensky’s office announced the loss of Berdyansk

Ukrainian authorities have lost control of the city of Berdyansk in the Zaporozhye region. There were no servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the city. According to RBC, this was announced at a briefing by Alexei Arestovich, adviser to the head of the country’s presidential office.

A few hours before, Acting Mayor Alexander Svidlo reported the loss of all administrative buildings in the city.

On the morning of February 27, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that Russian servicemen blocked Kherson and Berdyansk.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin made an emergency appeal to the Russians and announced a special military operation in the Donbass. In his speech, he stated that “circumstances require decisive action from Russia” and stressed that “Russia will not allow Ukraine to have nuclear weapons.”

In response to Russia’s actions, Western countries (USA, Canada, European Union, Great Britain, Japan) announced new, tougher sanctions against the Russian Federation, including financial and economic ones.
