Motorcyclist died in a traffic accident in the center of Guayaquil

A motorized man died this Sunday afternoon, February 27, after being hit by a car on Aguirre Street and Machala Avenue, in the center of Guayaquil.

Witnesses indicated that the motorized vehicle was traveling at speed and just as it crossed Aguirre in the Machala section, it was hit by a vehicle that was also traveling at speed.

The impact caused the motorcycle to be thrown into the air and fall meters ahead. The victim’s motorcycle was lying on a corner, the helmet in pieces.

Residents came to help, however, the man was in a delicate position with a lot of blood due to the impact with the pavement. Some surrounded the scene to try to recognize him, but indicated that he was not from the sector.

“We called ECU911, but it’s been about 20 minutes since the accident happened and the ambulance hasn’t come,” lamented one of the witnesses.

Personnel from the Traffic and Mobility Agency went to the site to coordinate actions and follow up on the other person involved in the accident. Videos from the surveillance cameras of nearby businesses were requested for more details.

Paramedics arrived minutes later and confirmed that the man had died of head trauma due to the strong impact.

Neighbors of the sector commented that it is not the first time that accidents of this type have occurred, that there should be more control in the area. (I)
