Police arrest three people allegedly linked to the murder of a police officer

Three people were arrested after the murder of police officer Juan Gabriel Vera Miranda, an active duty agent, who was shot early Saturday morning when he shared with other relatives.

The police located four people as suspects in the robbery of Vera’s friends and family and then the subsequent murder of the first corporal, with a shot to chest height.

Jaime Salazar, commander of Zone 4 of the National Police, indicated that the person who allegedly fired the shot against Vera has already been identified and that he was identified as Jordy MM, who is currently a fugitive.

The suspect has a record in 2015 for concealing stolen objects, in that same year for possession and illegal possession of weapons and in 2020 for drug trafficking.

The detainees were Jean TA, Farith MM and Juan GR, all Ecuadorians and none of them has a criminal record.

These people would have been identified by those who were at the time of the assault and subsequent murder of Agent Vera.

At least nine crimes occurred in Guayaquil during the carnival holiday weekend

As evidence, a taxi-type vehicle was seized, in which those linked to this murder would have been mobilized, as well as two motorcycles, four cell phones and several items of clothing.

The agent was murdered in the early hours of Saturday, February 26, at his home, located in Parque de la Madre, in the heart of Portoviejo, in moments he shared with other relatives. (I)
