The heat of the sun sheltered the hopes of the community members of Jambelí, who this Saturday began to receive dozens of tourists who took a boat from Puerto Bolívar to enjoy the sea on this carnival holiday.
“We are very happy to receive our tourists who have not arrived for two years, in the previous holidays there was almost no tourist activity. We believe that this holiday (carnival) will be able to reactivate our economy,” said Consuelo Mosquera, owner of a beach restaurant.
Party, dance and melodies welcome tourists at the Riobamba carnival
Jambelí is located about 20 minutes by boat from Puerto Bolívar, a route where you can see seabirds, the port area, the mangrove and a breeze that accompanies travelers. At the entrance to the beach there are dozens of merchants who struggle to offer their services.
Jambelí’s tourist and gastronomic offer is accompanied by artistic activities that have been scheduled from this Sunday to Tuesday.
“We have a variety of dishes made from seafood, prices start at five dollars,” explained Ángel Molina, from El Conchal de Jambelí restaurant.
A large number of tourists who visit Jambelí beach come from the Sierra provinces.
“I come to enjoy the holiday with my family, we are struck by the tranquility of the beach and I think it is a good option to celebrate the carnival,” said Raúl Caguana, an Azuayan tourist.

In Jambelí from 10:30 you can enjoy with your family the dance therapy and carnival laughter therapy, exhibition of body painting with artists and models on stage.
A large-scale outdoor graffiti show, dance therapy and the Show of the vallenato duo Joe and Bruce, together with Vincent Danier and the Peruvian orchestra Los Méndez, will experience it in the canton of Pasaje.
Piñas has prepared a socio-cultural parade in the main streets of the city and the coronation of the queen and miniqueen of the carnival, in the Luis Rubén Pasaca stadium.
At night, on the boardwalk of Puerto Bolívar there is a salsa concert by local and national artists.
Monday February 28
Balsas and Marcabelí prepared a parade of comparsas and floats, shows of foam, coronation of queen, artistic presentation of La Banda del Pato and the former vocalist of the Los Tauros orchestra.
They will also be able to enjoy the freshwater spas in Santa Rosa and El Guabo, with the presentation of artists, shows of fire and theater, contests, and for the smallest of the house painted faces.

To end the holiday, Jambelí beach will have the presentation of Las Chicas Dulces, as well as local artists.
In parallel, they will be able to enjoy live music to celebrate the carnival party with the presentation of local artists in Bajo Alto, Río Bonito, San Miguel de Brasil and Chimborazo, belonging to the El Guabo canton. (I)
