Trolleybus stops from La Alameda to La Recoleta are suspended due to marches against the Government

Due to the march that began today in Quito by the Unitary Front of Workers (FUT) and the National Union of Educators (UNE) against the Government, from 4:00 p.m. the operation of the Trolleybus stops located in the center was suspended historic, from La Alameda to La Recoleta.

The protesters, who are protesting fuel prices and other economic measures, walk along 10 de Agosto avenue, crossing Guayaquil street, in the direction of the Plaza de Santo Domingo.

The Metropolitan Passenger Company informed users that in the case of the La Alameda stop, the suspension is in the north-south direction; The transport units will circulate on the alternate route comprised by Patria, 6 de Diciembre and Gran Colombia avenues.

In the case of La Recoleta, traffic is disabled in the north-south direction, so the municipal buses will move along Pichincha avenue and Sena street. Then they will arrive at the Jefferson Pérez stop and continue with the normal route.

Uniformed officers evicted the Plaza Grande

Until 4:30 p.m. there was free mobility in the Plaza Grande, where the Carondelet Palace is located. People were able to walk unimpeded on several streets that did not yet have metal fences.
